Liana and Michael
Liana and Michael were married on a drizzly October Saturday in Edgewater, MD. The location was the Golf Club of South River. It was a beautiful location that I had been to before and it offered a lot of great photography opportunities. There is a bridge that crosses over a lake and the lake itself offers nice reflections. There is a covered patio where ceremonies take place when it isn’t raining and that is usually decorated very nicely both with string lights and large barrels that can customized to each couple’s specific taste.
Because of the rain, Liana and Michael’s ceremony was moved indoors. It made for interesting photography, as the room was smaller and made for very tricky angles. After the processional, I went to an upstairs loft to get less traditional angles that you don’t normally see. I had another photographer with me, who was getting those more traditional angles, so I felt comfortable experimenting.
The couple and I liked the alternate angles, as they did turn out to be something quite different. I personally loved shooting their first dance from up above with all of their friends and family surrounding them. It sort of reminded me of the dance from Beauty and the Beast.
From there, the rest of the night was spent photographing guests, decorations, the cupcakes and many other things. The dining room gave off a beautiful warm glow that translated so well into the photos. The day may have been a little bit drizzly, but Liana and Michael certainly made the most of their special day and didn’t let it bother them.
