Taylor and Alexander were married at Drumore Estate in Pequea, PA. It was a bit of a drive for me from southern Maryland, but anyone who knows me know I love a good road trip.

The estate was beautiful. A large area surrounded by rolling hills, corn ready for harvest and trees that were just getting ready to start changing colors. It was a little overcast, but that wasn’t going to stop anything. Everyone was in a great mood as they were getting ready.

Taylor and Alexander didn’t want to see each other before the ceremony, but they did a first touch, where they were lead out to a tree and from opposite sides of the tree, they read letters that they had written to each other. It was a cute and intimate way for them to connect with each other before the ceremony.

After that, we had a lot of time before the ceremony to get photos of the Alexander with his guys and Taylor with the bridesmaids. The fun part was using the grounds without running into each other, making sure the first time they saw each other was at the ceremony. I always appreciate lots of time before the ceremony to get photos. It allows everyone to relax and have fun before guests start arriving.

The ceremony was short and heartfelt. The couple was surrounded by family and friends. From there, we went on to photograph family photos and candid photos of Taylor and Alexander. We took our time taking advantage of the landscaping and decorative features of the area, coming up with a bunch of great shots that the newlyweds absolutely loved.
Finally, it was on to the reception, where everything went smoothly. Lots of dancing, fun and eating. Even the little bit of rain that fell didn’t hurt. It actually accentuated the brick beneath the string lights that had been set up by the venue. Eventually, it was time for me to head home and off into the night I went.
