Whoever came up with the phrase “When it rains, it pours” was definitely talking about this day. However, we didn’t let us get us down. We just thought about how great umbrellas are! They always come in handy and are greatly appreciated by brides and bridesmaids when they get caught outside without one.

Kate and Trevon were married at St. Columbia School in Oxon Hill, MD. The church was beautiful. The wood grain gave such a warm, rich color to the photos. Coupled with two incredibly nice and welcoming families, it made for a great afternoon. Church weddings are very traditional and are usually a little bit longer, so it allows time for getting the traditional photos and also time for looking for creative shots.

From there, we headed over to Martin’s – Camelot in Upper Marlboro, MD where the rain really started coming down. In Texas, we call it a Frog Strangler. Once inside though, the rest of the evening was full of fun, dancing, great cake and great photos.

One aspect of the reception where I spend some of my time is photographing the rings. This is an opportunity for me to flex my creativity with looking for decorative aspects to use with the rings. In this case, I was able to use some great gift wrapping from one of the gifts to use with the rings.

I had a wonderful time being a part of this special day and I wish Kate and Trevon many years of happiness.
