Karen and Clay were married on a sunny, blue skied afternoon on a sprawling piece of land at The Inn at Kelly’s Ford, in Remington, VA. There was a horse farm on one side and rolling hills that made for incredible photos. This location had everything a photographer could want. Rolling hills, sprawling fences, a lake and a nice mixture of trees.

The first look turned into Clay sweeping Karen off her feet. We spent a good amount of time photographing the bridesmaids and groomsmen, the bride and groom, family, etc. We used our time efficiently and were able to get a lot done prior to the wedding starting. The ceremony was beautiful and ended with the couple riding off in a carriage for some alone time before the reception started.

Karen and Clay both take ballroom and swing dance classes and added a cool element to their wedding, in having their dance teachers teach swing dance to their guests. The first dance was amazing, with lots of movement that photographs incredibly. Easily one of the most unique weddings that I have been a part of.

This was a very fun, very lively first dance. Lots of movement, lots of flare. It would have been a great time to be a videographer. And at the end, one thing that is hard to do; a full on dip of the bride. Clay made it look effortless.
