Joa and Alessandra were married on a beautiful day on the Chesapeake Bay, at Silver Swan Bayside in Stevensville, MD. It was nice and warm, beautiful blue skies and Mother Nature gave us a great sunset at the end of the day.

This was my second time shooting at Silver Swan, but the day did have a couple of firsts for me. It was my first two bride wedding and my first wedding with a crasher.

As the day got going, we got the normal getting ready photos; photos of the dresses, flowers, etc. After Joa and Alessandra got dressed, it was time for the first looks. We put Alessandra on the boardwalk and she waited for Joa to come up behind her. With one tap on the shoulder, Alessandra turned around and both started crying, seeing how beautiful the other was. From there, we took photos of the brides and their bridal party. We even decided to do a second First Look with Alessandra’s dad. He was very emotional and very excited to see his daughter get married. He was also grateful that we decided to include him in that way; he said it was something that he didn’t expect, but very much enjoyed.

When we were finished, everyone went back inside to rest up before the ceremony. Joa and Alessandra were sitting in chairs next to each other talking, when something funny happened. They looked at each other and realized that they were wearing the same dress, just in different shades of white. I spoke with one of their guests during the reception who had gone with each of them individually to look at dresses. She knew that both had picked the same dress, but couldn't say anything to either of them. Definitely an interesting situation to be in.

The ceremony was beautiful and it lead us into the reception with lots of dancing and laughing. As the wedding party was being introduced, it came time for the brides to come in and here comes this little white dog. He ran across the room, straight to the bridesmaids. I figured he belonged to Alessandra and Joa. Turns out, the cute little wedding crasher belonged to the family that lives next door to the venue. He got loose and ran over to party with us! I suspect it’s not his first time coming over to party.

The rest of the evening was less eventful. The bouquet tosses, dances, cake cutting, leading into a great sparkler exit. Overall, an incredible day.
